Going to flake a Manx style buggy. My buddy has a heavy metallic royal (dark) blue base coat that he's offered for the job, I'm after a bright finished result, probably going to use Roth "bad azz blue" flake. Will his base coat darken the job significantly or should I use a brighter blue? |

I usually use the closest color for a base if doing a complete body flake job. However I use silver if there is going to be multiple colors.
Are you going to use a Roth flake bomb gun or something else? I use a old school binks 7 with a 2.2 tip and an agitator cup to keep the flake suspended, I get the most consistant flake lay out this way. _________________ While we all hate POH ... Don't be Apathitic to CURRENT owner hacks.

I'm thinking of sticking with the bright blue flake and just expecting it to be a bit darker due to the base coat. Obviously the concentration of flake will effect the outcome also.
Not sure on the gun or tip size, was going to use his stuff since he has sprayed small flake jobs before.
Chillkoot: what size flake are you spraying through the 2.2 tip? Thanks |
