I will buy a set either way, but yeah it would be awesome to have the pattern right. they used 6 strands of the light thread where it needs to be three, is that what my eyes are telling me?

I'm going to sell it both ways.. probably 40 bucks for the cord only and 60 with the crimps.

I'm just putting together bits for a '58 rear hatch... not sure if the lower of the rear hatch window took a rod or cord.

Edit:
With info from post below... I'm in for a pair of cargo door cords (with ferrules).
Thx,
E

I need to get a roll call on who is looking to buy a set of cords.. I ordered the new ones and they will be made today and will take two weeks to get here..I do think the price is going to be a bit higher then i first stated..The cost of the new and improved cord is the factor. Good Enough is not good enough! I have to make up the cords with the ends and don't know when I'm going to be able to do that.. I have a newborn at home and my time is very valuable around the house.

What model of '58 westy do you have that requires cords? I didn't know there were any cords on a '58. Mine uses only leather straps. Cords would be handy in any respect as it keeps the curtains nice and tight to the windows when that privacy is needed Wink

I'm doing a resto-mod to a w/t panel & trying to stay fairly correct where I can.
Thanks for letting me know about the leather straps! I had no idea.
I'll go with the cords though.

I'm also going to make some rear hatch curtain rods zig-zag style (like the side rods) out of some straight bay rods... I like how they overlap more than how the straight rod works w/fabric closing.

I'm shooting for enough mod to make it as functional as I prefer... but true to form enough to make a couple people scratch their head.

I'm also going to make a little bit wider table... so it'll work better with the stubby early ambulance nurse's seat I'll put behind the driver (& maybe passenger side too). I want to maximize the usable cargo space & still have the great weekend camper/passenger functionality.

How's those bungees lookin'?... any estimate on pricing?

that's funny on the rear curtain rods; the earlier rear hatch rods were straight, then with the s-bend with the so-42's, then they went back to the straight style with the bay windows; just could'nt make up their mind on which way to go
