I guess they took the engines off the assembly line for industrial use just as needed. So it could be weeks between the numbers or minutes.
We will not know.

Ha! incredible , I wonder how many ind.engines were out there at all . Is there any register or list?

It seams that case was black painted and tin was beige. I have also some military green color but i think it was later repaint. ???

Yesterday I was just watching WWII actual refurbished movies on history channel and there was 1944 heavy bombing of German war industry sights so i couldn't stop thinking where was my engine at the time . working somewhere .. Very Happy

Naturally, my wife is ,as always, very happy for my endeavors

My friend is very in this subject and he found out (from available literature) as follows:

engine number 6-062710
6 industrial engine
0 typ 120 (Stationarer motor fur Reichsluftfahrt - Ministerium)
62 engine with 1800 rpms
710 probably : 7 subsection-engine purpose, 10 number of engines / this because 710 engines are very big number of engines and he doesn't believe that it was made so much. .

anyone could decode this? Shocked

Sorry, but that looks like total nonsense to me.
6 means industrial engine, ok. Pump, generator or what ever.
The rest is just a number of the engine.
I think they just numbered the engines all the way through.
Some got a 1 in front for beetle.
Some a 2 for Kubel.
Some a 7 for swimmer.
But the numbers where going on behind that. By 1944 they had made over 70 000. So yours is the number 62710. Thereīs not more to decode.
Or?
