At the last kombi meeting a member asked of we were planning anything and I was just going to text her to find out what she was thinking/planning... I'm interested in another wrenching session soon.

Carol who drives an early bay has a clutch / cable issue that she would like some help with. I'll try and work out details of when and where. Anyone else have anything they're working on?

I been spending most of my time putting my son's bug back together after paint, but I do have to do some FI air/fuel ratio tuning if anyone has expertise there. I also need to install my tach. That's what's next on the to-do for me so I'm game if you guys don't mind a newbie to the crowd.

I'm Not an expert in the area of FI tuning.... but I know I need to do it to mine too and there is info available for it. I may even have a copy if I can dig it up.

as for dug, your FI isnt gonna work right till you fix that valve issue, as its affecting all your vacuum and that FI system works based on vacuum.

Actually something just changed and I'm dying at idle suddenly... I'll start with points and work out from there. Doubt its vacuum and I don't think its that one exhaust. I've lost a bit of MPG as I ran out of gas exactly @ 200 miles on the tank and I'd usually get 250... Thankfully it happened right in the middle of a HUGE rain deluge. But I had rain gear and a spare 2gal of gas... 5 min delay tops.

**And I'm not implying that the exhaust valve is helping anything.. its just not the cause of my current issue.**

I'm going to pull the heads / cylinders on the new motor and inspect / replace the cylinders and install that motor. Just biding my time in regards to weather. Not going to build it up prior, but just pull the existing motor and swap the parts that I have.

I'm not sure how its going to happen.. But I've got to get it done.. I've got to pull the cylinders and inspect and clean/home them and probably replace the rings.. I could potentially tackle that in my ”living room”. I might have rom for both motors to swap components... Just one stand. Just got to get my ass in gear!

Thread Hijack- sorry (I'm from Canada, I have to say 'sorry' Wink )
Hey Stu and the rest Seattle crew, I need a favour...

Stu, we haven't met, but you have met my buddy Juni (Junichi) so he can vouch for me. I am looking at buying an older high end pack (gregory robson) that I can't seem to find locally. A fellow named Jeff in Edmonds has on for sale but will only do a cash sale. I would love it if someone would take my money via PayPal (cost of pack + shipping-maybe on the clipper + $30 for your time) and pick up the pack for me... I don't actually need the pack for a few months so shipping would be at your leisure.

I will pass on Jeff's contact if anyone can help
Cheers
