If you mean the fuel solenoid on the (passenger) side near the generator?
6 volt shut off solenoids were used on some Type 3 carbs (and others) until 66
They are sized and replace the standard jet.

The shut off solenoid yhat is wired to the coil. I need a 6 volt threaded and made to fit the later model h30/31 solex. |

It doesn't look like you'll be able to find one easily.
See if it will work with 6V...it might pull back - I've never tried it.
Other options are to modify the 12V one to work (re-wind the coil?) or just cut the plunger off. _________________ Copyright CJ Industries, Inc.

you could try a step up device like they sell for running 12 volt radios in 6 volt cars. |

He means the big plunger style. I have seen a photo of 6V version of that cutoff solenoid, but never in person. Very rare. 6V won't pull in the solenoid of a 12V version.
The kind that plugs off the (auxiliary fuel) jet on a H30/31 is much more common. You could try one of those and just cut of the plunger on the other cutoff.
However I think I'd just not worry about it and run with a cut off plunger.
(Actually I wouldn't even choose an H30/31PICT, I'd get a 30PICT-1.) |

Thanks all for identifying my options. I'll first try using six volts to see if it pulls it back and if not . . . . just cut the plunger Thanks again |
