I was looking at this Bug on http://www.oldbug.com/mouce.htm which has had a purchase big price drop.
The car is nicely customized, but in a manner may make it more of a girls car?
I was wondering what people thought about it.

Built to taste.

So the builder's taste might not be fore everyone and that can hurt the price.

It's just that interior that lets it down

All it needs is new seat covers and door trims and it would be a nice cal looker

I think you need to get past the "girl car" thing. Is it worth $19,000 to you? It's nicely done. It won't cost much to change the upholstery. The issue is whether you want to spend that much money.

the upholstery can be changed easy by a do it your selfer, however I do not like the two tone bugs, and I do not like even more so the pearl paint UGH!. That would be for me expensive to fix.

and yes this is more of a Girly Bug. just my opinion.

taste is personal, I am sure someone will like it. And I by no means want to imply the owner lacked talent in this build, it is just not my style.

if the color had been left stock and upulstery stockish, then it would attract more buyers and hence can sell for more faster. however the right buyer may love this car and pay well for it. just is fewer buyers for this scheme than stock, may take longer to sell or need a price reduction to move it. depend on seller, and how quick they want to sell.

I'd pass unless it was a screaming deal that would allow me to repaint her and redo inside.

WOW...
$19,750... special attention to details, TONS of work, ... and....
a 62 body with 65/66 doors...
d'oh! ....Damn.....
Somebody goofed up..... big time.!!!

I know we "used to" do that kind of thing in the 80's...but for that hefty price tag, it had better have the right style/size doors.... Confused
The interior isnt too bad fruity... Id either roll it or swap it out and sell it all off.

Those panels and seat cover gotta go!

Also the engine tin color leaves a lot to be desired.

Nicely done car but could have thought the color scheme out a bit better. I would say a woman had her hand in the design of the build.

That's the deal killer right there. Even if you get the correct doors you'd never perfectly match the paint.

The engine tin and upholstery are an easy fix.

Not my taste in paint, but if you change the interior I would drive it.

I'll chime in with a pass on this one. Nicely done just not my flavor. I would have expected something more then a single port.

I saw this car at a car show last weekend in Pensacola, FL. I'm guessing it's the same car. Can't miss the custom interior. It did have a for sale sign in the window but with no price. That's way to expensive. It was a real nice car though. I'm thinking 12K tops!

To be honest though it didn't really give off a "chick's car" vibe. I love stock but the interior in this car looked very professional, I'm sure that's where the high asking price is coming from.

I wouldn't pay more than 4 grand for it. the incorrect doors kill it totally.
best case scenario you have a car that needs the doors swapped, and a paint job, and the interior reupholstered. My $500 beetle needed/needs the same treatment, and it has the right doors, lol....

There's an ass for every seat, but in this case I have to agree with the others. It's a little too modified to suit the owner's personal taste. You'd think they would have detailed things a little better for the money they are asking....for example, paint the front beam ONE color! As for the mint green tank and engine tin, I don't know what to say...I guess I didn't see that one coming! It looks like it's had a ton of labor put into it though.

The price is outrageously high, but that's almost normal nowadays. People think they can personalize the car how they like it, then list their personal touches as upgrades....upgrades that raise the cars value immensely! Plus they think they are entitled to get all of their money back when they sell. Doesn't work that way with cars, only real estate. Rolling Eyes Market value has nothing to do with how much you invest!

And just what do you mean about the big price drop? They were asking MORE money than this at another time? Shocked

Way too much money. Clean car but it's still a bug. Plus, it appears the exterior door handles, sunroof handle and inside mirror have pitting on the chrome. Why gloss over those items when the rest of the car obviously had so much time and effort put into it?

My wife would go insane for that car. Very nice color but I'd never be able to look at it without seeing the mismatch between the door and the rear window.

Pass. For 20K I would want more than cosmetics. I want to see a better powertrain and maybe A/C
