I think you are leading though.

Let me get back to you ryans65 and Kafer60. Also thanks for the kind words fellas, its all forward progress!

I used my neighbor's tools to make these. We spent 4 weeks (and many beers) discussing all of lifes good and bad, cool places we travelled, music, women, plus designing them since I don't see him a lot lol.

I have a router and a table saw, but he has a BIG BOY router and table saw; plus I am not sure how much Brazilian Ipe we have left.

Funny that’s what I used! It’s the vice grips that hurt.
Maybe I’m a wimp.

No, no! While those are nice pliers, the ones I'm talking about have a lever action mechanical advantage and will give up to 10 times the force of your pliers with the same pressure on the handles. They really are amazing.

Here they are side by side. The Pliers-Wrench has that rounded fulcrum on the jaws which gives it the mechanical advantage.

Based on this thread, and the anticipated work, I ordered two pairs of the Knipex 10x pliers. Last night, I got a box from them. The box was easily big enough for 6 or 8 of them. I opened it up to find 1 in the box. Chatted with the bot until it figured out I needed a human, who confirmed I was getting a second box - FROM THE SAME PLACE - with the second one. They shipped them in separate boxes and through different shippers to determine which was faster. Apparently they are looking at going to a different process. Strange company, but the pliers are awesome.

Big day today. It didn't turn out perfect but I am really happy with the results considering I did it myself. More pics to come once the fumes die down!

Very small run near turn signal, easy breezy to sand out with single stage

You can see some trash and runs in this area, again should sand out if I take my time. I like to keep it real and share where I screwed up haha

Very nice! I bet that's a great feeling to have all the welding, sanding, and more sanding in the rear view.

Thanks guys. So I was able to peal off the tape and plastic and its hard to believe I'm even looking at the same truck.

This one is probably the worst panel, the one I had cut away to repair the wheel well. I may redo it. The louvers are a bit funky, you can only see it at some angles.

Such a landmark moment in the restoration process. You should be very proud! Now start putting it together...

That's some factory-correct orange peel right there!
And do I see dead people in the reflection?

I think you see my gates up against the wall. I just checked and there are no dead people in my building. Laughing and yes I’m happy with the orange peal not bad for a $49 Husky HVLP gun from Home Depot.

That run is an easy fix, use the razor blade trick. You tube has a bunch of videos on it. Wet sand and buff that single stage will look amazing. Great job!!!!!!!!
