I need to replace a cut out bulkhead in my 60 double cab. Is there any difference in bulkheads for a bus and double cab? How about a panel bus? Also, when did the sun pattern change? _________________ Tim |

My '62 had a cap on the top of the bulkhead like on a Deluxe or Standard. The cap is easily removable. A Kombi doesn't have the cap. And a panel doesn't have the cap but does have 5 (?) captive nuts to attach the cab divider.
So, if you can find a good bulkhead w/o the cap you can install even a panel bulkhead and install the cap later. It just snaps on. Or you could just leave tha cap off altogether. Even though mine was original to the bus I'm not positive that all years from '59 to '67 had a cap. _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

The bulkhead itself is the same as a bus _________________ Why buy what you can build.

a 60 would have the sunburst that ends with the 2 horizontal 'sunrays', none pointing downward... _________________ 1960 L31 M183 kombi |

Thanks. I've found a bus bulkhead to use, but I've noticed this small bracket in photos.
(Borrowed from gallery, thank you)
Anyone know why it's there? _________________ Tim |

My '59 DC un-molested bulkhead has a squared-off top edge, not that rounded top edge on your bulkhead...

Thanks Everett,
I guess I've never really studied that "cap" before, none of my 3 Splits have it. So that curved edge "cap" just pops on and off? I can't wait to pay more attention to that detail the next time I'm around a Bus with one...
Always learning something!
