I agree that is PG/SG, but the only definitive place I can see the color is in the engine bay. Where are you seeing Palm Green on the roof?

Here are some more pics and a cool story..first its a 59 (maybe a late 58 build however) it has an m-code. I was not able to get a good look at it due to the over paints, crap inside, and the P.O. bolted the doors shut. Clever, he drilled a hole through the lower part of the door and hooked it to the seat bracket. Also it has a mostly complete tan interior so its more than likely a standard..till I run the tag I won't be sure. The tree caused the dent

That looks like sand green to me. I've been wrong before, though. Many times.

As you can tell the poor Bus was consigned to shed service and was jammed between 2 sheds,a fence, and the tree (only recently cut down). The racks held pipe for the PO (recently deceased) since 1963!!!!!!!!! That is when it left the road. The son of the PO knew some of its history.

I'm going with it being a low taillight 1959 L345 Light Grey Kombi.

Well as you can see, the bus was 100% on the ground, no front beam, no transaxle, and no spring plate-torsion bar. luckily the housing were unmolested and rust free. The PO bought this, and backed it into its spot..then proceeded to rob everything for a aftermarket Meyers Manx style buggy. The son had a super old poloriod of it, Very beach looking affair..wouldn't let me get a shot of it though. No deck lid..

Off the ground now..better get a transaxle in there (Doug, I used the one that was in the Wolf!! hey, it was good for 2K last year should be good for another 100 feet). So far I see some type of darker green on the door jambs.

Once we had the transaxle in we hooked a come-along to a "deadman" fence post and carefully move it away from the tree. I did not have a correct early front beam so we did a "2-bolter" with a 64 beam up front. The PO's son found the pitman arm bolt in the dirt, so..ta-da..we had steering!!

And on to the trailer (homemade job, used to be a boat trailer..walking axles and a tilt bed, perfect for VW's). Total recovery time 3 hrs! Lots for pics Monday, hopefully I will have the m-plate decoded by then. This was 6 miles from my house!

Yup like I ask earlier . It does looked to be light grey. Would be way cool if it turns out to be light grey pressed bumper! Very few floating around. Earliest I've seen was June 58 light grey.
