Bought a 359 Porsche kit car, haven't seen much on this style. Anyone have production numbers or any info on this body kit?

Looks more like a 356/959 mix.

Very cool. Yeah a mash up between a Speedster and 959. What are your plans? What does the FRP tub sit on? This calls for a 3.6 liter Porsche motor in the back!

plan on combining with a 70 beetle w/ title and selling. has a full box frame under it for extra strength, this is the thickest fiberglass body I have seen!

I think they were made by CLassic Motor Carriages back in the late 80s early 90's. Kind ofa cool concept.

CMC definitely made one like that. It was the Classic 359 and the 359 speedster. I believe they had a hard top version called the Ultima 359. Thunder ranch also built thise, and I think fiberfab also made one like that.

It's a CMC Classic 359. There are a couple at SpeedsterOwners.Com. Install a Subaru engine and you'll be all set. PM me with your email and I'll send you scans of the CMC sales ads for the 359.

I have a black 959 CMC Speedster that the previous owner purchased in order to remove the Porsche 3.6 Carrera engine and G50 transmission that was installed by Peter's Porsche shop in New York. It had triple Weber carbs and is built on a custom tube frame chassis that was fabricated for SCCA armature racing with cage and a roll bar. A really great car it has coil over front and rear Carrera struts, wish bone front suspension, rack and pinion steering, big 4 wheel disc brakes, and BBS wheels. It now has a Porsche 914 two litre motor, stroked to 76mm welded Demello/ DPR crankshaft, 96mm pistons and NPR cylinders, that gives 2.2 litres with twin Weber 40IDF carbs. I have owned ten P-cars over the years and this one looks like the best for build quality!
