Interesting. I'll give it a try.

I am not an early Beetle owner, but really appreciate the history of the car. Ordered the book after browsing this forum. It arrived today. WOW!

Nice period pictures from the factory. It is all in German, but I knew that going in. This might be the reason that I need to take a German language course. It would be helpful since I work on Audi/Porsche everyday.

Highly recommended for the pictures. I am sure if I understood the captions it would be even better.

The last page has an image and text for the Prototyp Auto Museum. Since my German is very poor, if they were involved in publication of this book I would like to say thank you to them and whomever was involved in this project.

Got mine last Friday and I'm very happy with it. Lots of close ups of as-built detail.

I got mine Friday.

Great pictures. Lots of details in a lot of the pictures. I will be posting some that show specific details that have not been readily available before.

Got my book the other day. It's bitchen, I Have Peter Keetmans book - A Week at the factory. I like that book, But this one is cool seeing the people building the cars.

I have a question to ask. Want to know if anyone got a error book. My books first 10 pages are folded back and bound to the binding. I'm debating on asking for an exchange or keep it? Not sure if I missed anything on the first 10 pages. When I got the book I thought they were fold out pages. Here's a couple picture of what I'm talking about.

that is not normal. I would ask for a replacement.

The first 10 pages are mostly about the process of taking the pictures but still worth seeing.

Yes, I'd send it back. It's a manufacturing defect. The first ten pages are actually about a movie making crew that filmed in the factory. I can't read German but I presume that the stills in the rest of the book were taken by the movie crew. It would be great to get a copy of the movie they made.

Tremendous movie! I enjoyed every bit of it. I would still like to get a copy on DVD because the Youtube video is spotty quality. But I searched amazon.de and ebay.de and didn't find any with the title Aus eigener Kraft that has to do with the VW. There is one with that title but it doesn't seem to be the right one.

Got my copy a few days ago. Excellent pictures! I think it really would have benefited the book (and publisher's income) if they had done the text in German AND English. It certainly would have been feasible for a book like this... just a thought.

The driving cars in the movie are almost all ovals.
The people should see what they actually could buy I think.
There are many details in the production visible from the zwitter times.
