Surprised to see a bus like this end up at a Salvage Pool. Anyone recognize the bus?

Nope. I believe it is up for auction next week. Looks like it was recently pulled out of somewhere. Interior is barn fresh.

In that range, with today's prices, in that condition, it seems that you could double your money fairly easily. Depending of course on knowing more of the condition and where the bidding goes.

Damn! What a mess. I guess you can't judge a bus by its cover.

Sure looks like it...

I'm going with something more elaborate - it was being shipped overseas and fell into the Pacific at the docks.

I assume it will carry a salvage title? That would be the one thing that would scare me off, the water damage is no big deal, once you gut it who would ever know? But the title will always tell the tale.

So is Salvage title a bad thing? I know for a newer car that is salvage it may be, but for an older VW is it still a bad thing??

In my opinion a salvage title doesnt mean much in an old car because most buses by now have been through some sort of accident that could classify them as "salvaged" but it hurts the resale value. I never consider cars new or old with a salvage title....

Having sold and bought cars with salvage titles believe me, it makes a huge difference. Also, I think some countries will not allow you to import a car with a salvage title.

not only is the interior trashed…but it looks to have been repainted. there appears to be blistering along the bottom of the driver side door, the pass side bottom of door looks a little fat compared to the dogleg, and the upper color should encompass the entire belt line…not split in the "middle behind the trim". who knows whats under there…with an interior like that, i'd be concerned.
