My coworker asked me today after work if I needed a push up the snowy and icy hill from our office. I just looked at her and said my bug has studded snow tires - I will be just fine.
It was worth a chuckle.

They do seem to go quite well when equipped that way...one step up would be to chain up the rears and have the studs up front.
