no I think Florian is doing this stuff right. Probably was too bent to have left it that way. I think it is even great that he managed to save the original nose panel.

It's not even the original nose anyway, remember? (wiper divets)

I'd love to see an update if you've made any more progress this summer. My 5 year old son loves the rescue video, we've watched it countless times.

You are certainly doing a fine job on this restoration!

I'm interested in how you are getting to the original paint without harming it.

And if you can keep the original paint, what is your plan for the repaired and replaced sheet metal?

Hi there,

I didn't work on the bus since mid-july but here are a few pictures I took before to leave for holidays :

The bottom of the long side panel is now welded, and here is my girlfriend stripping the layers of crappy paint to go back to the original one. It took her 1 week full time to finish this area :

I'm still wondering how your girlfriend is able to strip the added paint without harming the original paint.???

One year ago at this time I was coming back from sweden with the barndoor on the trailer.
It's finally ( Dancing ) time to remove it from the jig where it sat during the past 10 months for body restoration, and look at the "almost finished" body at its regular height Very Happy

Only a few minor things to weld (jack point, heater tube, finishings here and there and finally lead loading), and it will be ready for some paint touches and re-assembly Smile

For now I will have to find a new garage... so the busses will be stored for a few weeks and I hope to be able to move them asap to put the bus on the road by next spring.

Here is how it is now, before storage.

Looking at your previous projects I think I should pay you a journey to France to help me in the blending paint process Wink
