Ok.
We had a successful test of our new tools this week. Just need to make the jig for the coupe versions. These are poured products not injection molded so they will require flash removal.
I am going to attempt to have them colored in the gray and beige but if it does not get close they will require painting.
I need to know how much interest there is as we have to machine brass inserts for the areas the arm and support go into. I am doing this to hopefully avoid the breakage problem of the originals.
The waffle pattern is very crisp and the last pull had very few flash points requiring sanding.
So how many people want/need a set? Coupe or Vert? Color?
I am probably going to start with a batch of 10 sets and I believe 5 have already been requested. If the demand is much more then I will see about having more inserts made up front. will be 200 vert 220 coupe. I wont be taking money until I am assured I can get product but I can take names for now.
The molds are fragile so when she blows that's it.

Hi djway3474

I just got passed along to this thread by Loren and I understand that you are currently working on making new waffle visors. I would like to put my name in for a set for my coupe. How do you want to proceed - money now or later?

Thanks.

Dave

I am recording names as I am contacted. Once I know the product will flow I will start taking money.

earlier pictures of the vert test pour which is in primer to help show detail

Again I am inserting brass tubing in the support rod areas to hopefully avoid the breakage problems of the originals and since these are a poured product and not injection molded I feel they need the strength. They will also be oven cured to harden the material.
I am attempting to match colors. Some aftermarket examples I have seen are way to brown. The originals I have are more like the stone beige color and that is what I will try to get close to. The gray will be a light gray. But count on painting them just to be safe.
Some flash sanding may be necessary to get them really smooth at the flash zones.
I am getting real close to how many we can get done but it depends on how many actually get the deposits in.
Working on payment methods.
Rumors abound on the metal clamp becoming available

thanks Mr Moxon for a color correct version of the picture it is primer and not the actual color of a pour but you can see the detail nicely

THEY ARE NOW FOR SALE
I have set up ways to be paid so I can start collecting the money. I will be placing my order next week and expect to have them by mid to late January.

Again, these are poured products and will require a little finish sanding to remove flash. They will be in color but if you want an actual match to the stone beige count on painting them. They will have internal brass bushings to strengthen the mount points. I have chosen the above criteria to substantially beat all prior offerings cost. I am not in this for profit I am doing this because of an obsessive love of all things VW Shocked Cool This mold has a limited run time and when it is done it is done.
Deposits will not be refundable and all sales will be final.
I will only ship with tracking and insured so when it comes time to ship you will be billed for that at cost. Paypal users, I will only ship to the registered PAYPAL address.
PM me to arrange payment for the visor. Shipping will be billed when packaged and ready to ship.
here is the list I have of people that have made request. If you don't see your name please contact me.

Loren S 2 vert beige
Danny G coupe beige ?
Thom D coupe beige
Anthony - Sancho coupe beige
d5625 coupe beige
Dave Sanderson coupe gray
Woody - hcope coupe beige
Rich 50 coupe and visor beige

Painted some color on my coupe test shot

kaki paint by krylon

berber by krylon but it has a texture so not useable

Here I sanded off the paint on my original visor Berber is very close just need to find another paint close to the original stone beige color or find the paint code for stone biege

Wolfsburg West offers spray paint in silver beige. Might be worth getting a can and seeing how close the match is.

good possible option Loren It would be nice to see some chips.

For those that want to be included, money needs to be in this week. I will cut it off at 18 sets as that is the max that can be produced in January.
pm me for how to pay

Name on the list of interest does not get you a set, it means you have interest. First 18 sets actually paid for get them.
