Does anyone know a source for custom floor mats? I'd like a quality set of black mats custom fit for a VW pan trimmed in Orange with an embroidered logo also in orange. Are there people doing this? I had a real nice custom set similar to this in my Charger made by Loyd but cant' seem to find something similar for a classic VW. _________________ Manxter #39 on a 1971 Pan

I'm having trouble finding just a plain inexpensive mat that will fit. Carpet kits are easy to find, but I just want a plain floor mat that will fit properly and not cost an arm and a leg |

Hey guys,
Back in 2007, I ordered some VW floor mats from Coverking to be used in my Berrien Buggy. The mats themselves were of good quality, but they did not fit the floor as well as I wanted.
After doing some research, I contacted Avery's Floormats about having some custom floor mats made; something simple that would fit the floor correctly. They also sent me carpet samples to choose from.
I got some heavy duty wrapping paper, and started working on patterns for the driver's and passenger's side flooring (I did not order any carpet for behind the seats). After tweaking the paper along the edges, I picked up some cheap, thin roll carpet from Lowe's and transferred the patterns. After testing these versions, I sent them to Avery's.
I ordered total 2 sets, and I paid $101.19 (2007 prices). The carpet itself has worn relatively well, and the binding tape borders are still in place. The finished product was exactly the same as my patterns. They were also kind enough to return my patterns, so that I could easily order again in the future.
I usually use a smaller, square clear rubber mat on the driver's side for everyday driving. Also, I have some of that thick rubber floor runner matting (like you would see at customer counters on concrete floors, etc) under the carpet to help level out between the actual floor and the fiberglass body lip.

Did you happen to find anything from Avery that was customizable for the vanagon floor mats?
