This was not built as the gas saver but with a little more torque. It now has over 1100 miles on it and runs smooth and pulls very well. I plan on posting some pics and comments on the build in the near future. This post is not meant a s an engine building tutorial (that is what Youtube is for, lol) but rather to share some watch outs and my solutions to some issues as the build progressed.

Your choice.... most engine builders are in the Performance forum. The engine is not specific to a Thing, Beetles, Ghias and early Busses all use the Type 1 upright engine.
