first time taking the whole family in the ghia for a spin since the little one was born 10 months ago.
went on a nearly 200km round trip to the Royal National Park, had some ice cream at stanwell tops while the little ones were fascinated by the hang gliders ect.
then carried on to scarborough beach. kids loved the experience and the little ghia did not miss a beat! love this little car!

Well its just below freezing here - been that way for a month now. The Ghia is under it's cover with a battery tender keeping that from dying - carbs drained - it looks lonely! Since it has no heater (it has air!) any moisture would quickly freeze on the inside of the windshield if I were to drive it. Got my 'scooter' parked next to it with it's battery tender connected up and it's own cover to keep the dust off it. Seems I'm stuck with driving the Jetta for a few more months.
Nice looking car. I love the metallic blue. That was my second choice after toreador red. Seeing the blue makes me wish...
Not going there!!! I put too much time and $'s into that red paint job. _________________ 71 Ghia Coupe - stock body - no rust! Powered by a 2110 W/Dual HPMX 44's - Rancho Pro Street Transaxle - A/C by Gilmore

Nice one Rick!
I go to Stanwell Park quite regularly too. But I don't fly down in my Ghia. I jump off in my Hang Glider!

I bet once your Ghia is on the road you will be getting down there for the drive every now and then , and congrats on hang gliding, it is something i have always admired but don't think I will ever do.

Haha, thanks she looks a little contorted in that pic doesnt she? .. maybe i should have waited until she got in the car properly before i took the photo. But i guess we are lucky to both be short arses at 5foot6 for me and 5foot5 for her. we fit quite comfortably in the Ghia even with the seats at their front most position |

Looks like a beautiful day out, Rick. These cars were made for this sort of thing!
