I am in the midst of covering my '67 seats and have a question about the back of the seat back.
Was there a pressed particle board support in the back to help support the cover material from shifting cargo?
In this photo there is obviously no support.
Yet in this photo the back seems to be well supported.
Also, my '67 seat back has 7 holes drilled into the top bar that look as though they are to attach a protective edge piece similar to the above picture.
Any thought?

Yes, here's the backing board from when I took a '60 Deluxe rear seat back apart
It's pretty thin board, less rigid than a door panel
You have a Bay Window seat so not sure about the guard along the top but if it has holes, maybe it has that same metal guard? _________________ How to Post Photos

Thanks Everet,

Yes and the ash tray holder rivets to it too |
You are awesome, as always. Thanks.
I may opt for something slightly beefier on my seats, as long as I can keep the lines of the upholstery correct.

Hi there!
I’m looking for a few dimensions of a splitbus seat. Did use the search function of course but could not find it yet.
I have a rock and roll bed that has to be narrowed anyway, so I’m planning to cut the legs of and replace them and make it look a bit more correct.
(Not my picture, borrowed from this topic).
I’m looking for the tube diameter, heights and how far the legs are apart
Many thanks! _________________ My 1958 PGSG project topic |

I have a 1963 rear seat, but only on the bottom.
I'm missing the seat back.
I plan on installing Z hinges so it lays flat. Is it possible to get a rear seat back that's flat, from say, a different year that will still work?
I think this is from a 62, but same as 63? Curved? Don't really want that.

Need help identifying this seat bottom and back rest.
The bottom does not have holes in the legs to mount to floor. The outer leg rails that lay on floor have dimples or ‘indentions’ on top of them.

The seat top is later bay (mid 70's?); bottom probably too based on covers; not sure why there are no holes for the clamps, but maybe later bays do not have holes?
I believe all split lower rear seats have provisions for the heater log. _________________ WANTED:

For the rear seat base?
Right in the middle of the cargo floor indents
1959 had 4.
Mid-63 up only had the rear-most 2 brackets, one on each side |
Thanks, that's helpful.

As far as rear seat bases go… is there a difference between the bottom covers over the years? For example, will a 57-60ish original seat cover fit on a flat back rear seat bottom or is the bottom a different shape/profile as well? I realize the springs are different but is the cover the same? |

Anyone have an idea of the distance the screws for the rear seat mounting brackets are from the top and side? I don’t want to cut a million holes |

Top hole to top of seat - 65mm
Top hole to side of seat - 30mm
Distance between 2 holes - 15mm
