|
|
Hello everyone! Happy New Year.!!
I was connecting all my Engine wires again in my 1971 Ghia coupe and I have TWO questions:
ONE:
I have 2 wires coming from the TOP of the transmission, one is thick red and white and the other don't know the color. One of them has the LONG fuse...
Does anyone know where is going??? not in the wiring map...
TWO:
For the rear Window DEFROSTER, I have a Relay 111.963.141 B, Someone knows WHAT cable are going to each PIN on the relay?? (30, 87, 86, 85),
Please HELP HELP !!!!
Regards,
Alex |

I think the heavy red/white wire is to the starter. The Black wire with the fuse is to your back-up lights.
Someone else will have to chime in about the defrost relay. |

Robert, In the bentley manual it shows:
Pin 87-wire from rear window heating element
Pin 30-wire from fuse S1 (rear window defroster, back-up lights fuse)
Pin 86-wire from rear window defogger switch
Pin 85-wire from ground
Good luck! |

Check out the wiring diagram here:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/wiring/ghia_8_70_usa.jpg
The heavy gauge red/white wire runs from the Batter + side to the voltage regulator and then on to the fuse block.
There is a heavy solid red wire from the ignition switch to the starter.
Also shown in the diagram is the wiring for the rear window defroster relay (J9). _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |

Thank you for the answer!! Great..now next is:
My Relay pins has NO numbers on it... probably gone from the cardboard from the years... DO YOU know just in case which one is each one?? or a picture of the bottom showing the PINS and Numbers?
thank so much.!! _________________ Questions? Email me, I always answer all emails, same day or next. |

Thank you!!!
It shows 2 wires:
1 BROWN wire from N7 (transmission) to J17 (starter cut out switch)
1 BLACK wire from N7 (transmission) to S1 (Fuse) going to N (ignition coil)
Question is: .. where is that J17 Starter cut out switch ???
Probably something simple but I am very confuse.
thank you.
thank you again _________________ Questions? Email me, I always answer all emails, same day or next. |
