Is it okay to place a rocker arm shim between the rocker and the mounting block or is this a no no? Not talking about under mounting block but between it and the rocker arm. |

Yes it's OK. In fact I try to fit at least one between them on all my set-ups.

it's good to have 2 or more there, but try to keep them thick so they dont just deform.and hardened is better.valve spring shims with the ridges are not for this . they are noslip shims, meaning they grip, you dont want grip.even though some lame companys may send them for shimming rockers. |

Yeah, no problem. I'll add......... the sides of many rocker blocks aren't square, the shim might be happier if you correct that. |

Not sure if valve alignment issues (alignment with rocker) will allow me to run shims at all the mounting blocks (side not under)-these are original (stock) VW rockers. Thanks!

Technically I think the shims you are referring to would be "rocker shaft shims" ....

Yeah I think the way I was describing could be misinterpreted as the shims under the mounting blocks -thank you for the clarification. |
