Hello everyone, hoping to get a little help. I have a 87 with A/C. I've had a very poor running issue over this past winter. I found a faulty ground along with the o2 sensor sheathing shorting to the signal wire. The Van obviously runs much better now since making those repairs.
I have rented the Digifant ECU tool from VanCafe and I've noticed a few things that seem odd to me while scanning with the tool.
1. ECU Voltage that is displayed via the tool is reading 12.5V however I'm getting 13.5V and the alternator and battery. Is there a something that lowers the voltage to the ECU or is this abnormal?
2. Temp II. When cold the display voltage is within spec, however as the coolant temp increases the voltage drops to 0.00v once at operating temp. The Van seems to be running ok, sometimes does not take throttle after a hot restart. I've checked the resistance with the old Temp II sensor and a new sensor and they are both reading within spec.
Could someone please tell me what pins on the ECU plug are the Temp II sensor?
Also if anyone is near the Baltimore area I would be very grateful if I could plug in the VanCAfe tool to your Van just to check the operation of the tool. Beer's will be on me.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks,
Mike |

Anyone have and idea about questions 1 & 2? Or if they know which pins on the ECU harness are for the Temp II sensor?
Thanks,

According to the Digifant Pro Training manual, pg 40 is what you want to check out. Intake Air Temp sensor is 6 and 9,
Temp Sensor II (Coolant tower) is 6 and 10. The values correspond wiht a graph in the manual.
Download a copy as it has some good stuff in it ...
Good Luck. |
