Before I removed it, my rear bumper sat at an angle and looked like this from the side. Both sides looked the same.

The bumper itself appears straight - not obviously deformed, but what do I know, this is the only one I've ever looked at closely.

Seeing as there's no visible damage to the rear subframes or body, I got to wondering if the bumper brackets might be bent. Again, I've got nothing to compare them to. Perhaps someone here that's seen plenty of them could tell me if anything looks out of line?

Here are photos of the LH bracket from all sides:

Please let me know if anything looks out of line with the bumper or the brackets. I'd really like to fix this. (FYI, I know these are available new from Europe or BusDepot Special Order. Need to know first if mine are good or bad.)

Hard to just look at a curved part and say if and where it is bent. You could just add some washers in the right places to make the bumper fit at the angle you want it to. If not that then some replacement brackets or some sledge hammer work.

The right side pic looks tweaked from here.

Any chance someone here has one on the shelf and could take a photo of the right side so I could compare?

Your left side one looks better, look at it in a mirror Smile
Notice how the upper and lower legs leading up and down to the flat/horizontal parts the bumper bolts to are in a straight line (well almost, they should be) but the upper one on the RH is leaning out to the rear?

You could probably save those mounts. Looks like the top needs to be bent back in a bit, bottom back out some, might need some welding. A little sand blasting, primer, paint. Take a good look at what the frame mounting points look like to make sure they are not tweaked. Compare that to price of new mounts.

your bracket in the top photo above is bent. the splaying at the top and bottom return is normal, but the bend of the upper part above the middle ridge (your bracket) is not normal.

A thousand thanks for all who helped shine light on this problem. The comparison photo was very helpful. I'm going to order a pair of new ones.
