One place to check would be LA Performance in the UK. I'm not sure what shipping would be like to Australia. Joel will chime in with some good ideas, I'm sure. If not, you might PM him. If still stuck, go to GermanLook.net. There are some very knowledgeable Aussies (and other folks ) there who can help.
I'm five years removed from my Super and I don't have pics of mine specifically. The good news answer is: YES, it can be done. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI

I don't know how many type 2s in Austraila got type 4 engines, many countries got type 1s,,, from 1972 on the ones in North America came with type 4 engines.
Heater boxes from 72-74 are the most favored for conversions with heat
but 75-78 boxes could be used.
If your engine is one of the newer 79 and later square exaust port engines
then the 79 and later boxes can be used.
Good luck, |

I thought the 411/412 heater boxes were a good choice for an upright conversion, but it's been years since I did any research on it. |

I started building up a type 4 to put in my bug back in 2000 and it was my aim to have working heaters.
The stock bus heaters can be cut down to fit, its just rigging up the flap system in a bug that clears the axles is a pain in the arse.
A mate had V-force in Sydney build him a muffler and heater setup for his type 4 powered 72 Super, turned out sweet. _________________ Quick little bug, you got a Porsche motor in that?
