Thank you!
Feel free to use any of the ideas I've posted here.

The body up until this point was only attached temporarily, it's finally time to make things permanent.
The hardware chosen:
And now, everything is pulling together (literally!).
The dash/cowl (also temporary) and hood alignment can be set now that the body is secured to the chassis.

With the body and chassis solidly joined (man, this thing feels solid!), it time to set the four wheel alignment

The galvanized wire screen for the side pods wasn't working for me so, I took a different route.
I found a plastic crate with the pattern I was looking for. I routed the face to fit snug in the side pod and glued it in place on the back side.

The plastic crate idea is brilliant! I may be using this to add texture to the opening at the front of my buggy. _________________ If I knew what I was doing; I wouldn't be building a buggy! |

What size are the finishing washers and bolts that you used to mount the body? |

The Finishing Washers: 33mm (little over 1 1/4")
Stainless Screws (I think): 6mm x 100 _________________ 1967 Type 1 Sunroof

OK, so today's delivery doesn't count 'twards getting the Manx done in time for Big Bear but I'm glad it's here. I found and ordered a 2" roll bar clamp for my GoPro.
I have to have a record of the first drive!
As well as have the GoPro ready in time for Big Bear

The last of the powder coated parts came in this week. The headlight buckets are now the same metallic silver & clear coat matching the wheels, roll bar, parking brake and steering column.

Starting with the Hood, the Cowl & Dash were aligned and locked down for the last time. The Windshield was also installed and secured in place.
The front glass seems to be the one item that changed everything (for me at least).
Now, when I pass by that large collection of parts I've been working on,
I'm actually seeing a car.

The (second) gas tank is now done and in. Its not plumbed or secured 'cause I'm going to rotate the brake reservoir 180 degrees and bleed the brakes.
All of the dash wiring is done!

Did I mention the dash is done?

Looks Great!
I will be checking this buggy out at Big Bear. That flake color is spectacular! _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

looking good, I like your attention to detail and the fact you get in with it as opposed to bitching about it
Looking forward to see it at Big Bear, I will have to suggest to Bruce that he hands out Mile Crates with the kits instead of Bird Wire, it could be part of the packaging |

Thanks guys!
I've had several compliments along the way and I guess I was too close to the project to see the bigger picture that everyone was commenting on.
For the first time last night, I saw the big picture. This is going to be a cool little car.
Brad,
An aerospace engineer by trade, attention to detail and the drive to get it right the first time is my force of habit. I have little patience for complainers who spend more time yacking about a problem than actually looking for a solution.
In regards to asking Bruce to adopt the milk crate: The process was a royal pain and getting any color to adhere is only temporary. I sourced suppliers of hexagon pattern sheets that are easily shaped and colored. I didn't take this route only due to having buy a 4" X 8" sheet when I only needed a couple square feet.
My wife thinks I have OCD after witnessing me install, remove and reinstall components multiple times. Brad's time-lapse video of the Manxter Baja Edition in the days leading up to Baja was especially helpful serving as proof that this is a natural part of the process (or perhaps she's right and we all have OCD?).
Now, if you will excuse me, I have a steering column to install (for the 4th time)..... _________________ 1967 Type 1 Sunroof
