What kind of lube or grease should be used on the cam for the trigger points? I couldn't find anything in the Bentley manual about it.

Same as for regular breaker points. Typically a dedicated distributor vrease. The rubbing blocks are the same material.

Most of the distributor greases were synthetic.....usully silicone based. It needs to be a grease that is reasonbly high melt point like about,325-350......but needs to be a thin smooth, low twck grease. Many of the wheel bearing, greases in cold weather get so thick...and with age can harden a little. When it gets like that it can form lumps on the cam that cause the rubbing block to skip.

My fave grease for this these days is SuperLube. Its hugh melt point, synthetic.....but smooth and low tack....similar to warrm vaseline. And....I just saw that you can get it 4oz silver squeeze tubes at harbor freight of all places. Many flaps hve it as well. Ray

I use Bosch distributor grease. I bought a tube from Jim Adney back in 2008. It's more than enough to last my lifetime. I don't know if he still has any more though.
