Fantastic work, Matt! Your Ghia looks great with the Porsche 356 wheels and the thin whitewall tires. Did you also take the engine apart for a check and/or rebuild? Have you taken it on any longer drives?

I noticed a mistake on your birth certificate. The engine is listed as a 30 PS, which would be the "36 hp" per the US SAE measurement. That engine was last used on Ghias (and US-market deluxe Beetles) for the 1960 model year. The correct designation for your original engine should be 34 PS which is 40 SAE hp. Your engine appears to be a single-port 1300 (for US 1966 model yr) or 1500-1600 ('67 thru '70) anyway, installed by a previous owner.

A good friend of mine bought a '64 Ghia Cabriolet last year which was in mostly original condition. Its VIN is only 170 higher than yours. Cool

Beautiful car. Nice work. I like the dash grab handle. It looks like a very challenging restoration.

Looks awesome! I just got a 1964, still checking it out, found some bondo repair, but mostly solid, no where as nice as yours.

Everything on the car, looks very very good! Great job, I bet you are really proud. Big bonus points for the interior, as well as wheel/tire choice Wink
