Can the oil cooler/seals be removed and or replaced without dropping the engine? I'm getting a lot of mixed information and I would really appreciate some clarity.

I am guessing you have a 1969 bus?

It would be best if you dropped the engine, on the bus the luggage tray is blocking the fan shroud from lifting off the oil cooler. So you would have to lower the motor at a minimum. So you would be half way there. Might as well drop it.

Please read this link. There where a few different oil coolers and seals used. If you use the wrong combination you can fry the motor.

Good luck
