Sorry if this has been covered before. I bought an engine core with a bunch of VW parts, I'd like to ID it to know what size it is year etc. It's a dismantled 2.4 I think... maybe early 70s. Heads are good, case is good, crank looks good. It looks like it's all there, chain tensioners, covers, rocker covers, shafts, rods, pistons and sleeves, no induction, exhaust, or cooling tins. Just a disassembled long block. Not really sure why it was taken apart... Any idea of value?
Many thanks, Jeff

Got an engine number. Value will vary depending upon engine type. Post all the numbers you can. Don't really need the part number which many people mistake for the engine number.
