That's sweet @Italjohn! Do you have a picture of it mounted in a Vanagon?

It's not installed yet, will try during the summer, so you have to be patient.

How about the end plugs for the engine carrier bar?
VW 070 199 219

seems NLA everywhere

Has anyone made those yet?

On mine one is missing, and the other is essentially perished. I have the engine out at the moment and am in the process of refurbishing the carrier bar. It seems blocking these water entry points would help in minimizing rust inside the bar.

I found this pic on the web for the engine carrier end caps. The remnant of the one I had is too destroyed to use as a template.

I`m sure an industrial metric end plug can be found to fit...

I plan on making those plugs sometime in the near future. I retained the mustache bar as part of the support frame for my TDI conversion.

But right now I'm busy working on the exhaust and figuring out hoses, so it'll be a few weeks before the plugs are important enough to me to make up.

I know this isn't vanagon related but I'm a nurse and having to wear masks quite a lot lately this would be really cool if i could get like 10 of these printed and sent to me to give out to my coworkers... yes there are other ways to help with comfort but they're not great!

Send me a PM with the address and I'll have the 10 straps printed by tomorrow - I'm located in Seattle, so it will take a couple days for the package to arrive to San Diego.

For the Vanagon folks that have 3D printers at home, please consider joining local groups that participate in printing protective visors for our first line responders (who are the true heroes in these crazy times).

We belong to one such group in Seattle and we've been very busy printing visors for several days. So far, our group has delivered more than 500 visors to local hospitals, but we have requests for more than 4,600 visors from many hospitals in the area, so we have a long way to go.

I'm sure your local hospitals/health centers will have similar needs. Below is the link to the visors, they need to be printed in PET or ABS, so they can be disinfected daily (in Seattle, we're printing the American model, if you're in Europe, I assume you'll be printing the European version):

Hi
If anyone would like to install scan gauge on the steering wheel column I made small holder.
This is V1: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4550897 which is ¨flat¨
I might change angle of the bottom end after I will see how hard it will be to read it in different conditions.

This is very cool, thanks! How do you install it so that it doesn't move, do you use velcro?

Thank you
I was planning to use velcro (3M version) but than I found out bitter trough...
EU ECUs has OBDII connector, but in early 2000s they do support only SSM. And ScanGaugeII does not support SSM although they don't claim it on their web site. So I have to return it. That is a bummer as it would solve 2 things for me.

Anyway in case you would like to get some modifications let me know.

As my Doka ALH conversion nears completion, one of the last remaining puzzles was the throttle pedal. Rather than just taking the Jetta pedal and sticking it in the truck, I wanted to come up with something much more elegant. So I took apart the pedal and came up with a design so that it would function as a floor hinged pedal, as the original.

These are the pieces I would take from the Jetta pedal (the pin on the far right is actually from the original T3 pedal assembly):

Final printed throttle pedal. It's single assembly, so pedal and the potentiometer are aligned properly, and the whole thing is easily mounted:

Here it is fully mounted, an important part of my design was to make sure that, when at rest, the pedal was at the same angle as the original. VCDS shows the pedal functions properly, with a full range from 0-100%.

looks fantastic, very nice design, but im worried that the first hot day it will deform from heat. what infill percentage did you use? i try to print things as solid as possible for the heat range of a hot car which can soften PLA or ABS.
