|
|
Upon the arrival of my country of origin plate, I immediately went to the garage to mount it. However, it doesn't fit my bumper mount. My bumper mount is too tall. When I ordered the plate, I ordered the one compatible with 49-67 cars, because the 74-79 plates have the round mount for the shock absorbing bumpers. I presumed that it would fit my car, since it doesn't have the shock absorbing bumpers.
This is the one I got:

It says that you can buy an adapter plate, but it looks like this:

Obviously I cannot use the adapter, since I don't have shock absorbing bumpers. What should I do? _________________ Beeble1, ‘73 Super (o\_|_/o) 1600cc w/ Dealer A/C

Get someone to make you a bracket to replace the small bolt on clamp with a longer one that'll go down under and around your bumper bracket - something like this:

U
Then you can put the 'D-sign' and holder in the middle of the long U and the bolts through the U and clamp the bracket above and below the bumper. Or send it back, or drill your bumper bracket, or weld it on. _________________ 1973 1303 with AB-motor - sporadic
