What cars .....or what part number am I looking for to replace my 70 square blinker handle? I believe that mine is crap. I need to get it replaced. I am tired of not having blinkers.

Will a 71 blinker handle swap over? What other years swap?

70 and 71 have the same steering wheels right? so shouldn't the blinker handles be interchangeable?

From my search in the classifieds, it looks like there are a lot of specialty items when it comes to type 3 dash electronics. I do not know what all is what.

Some blinker handles are marked 68-69. Looks like 71 was a special year. 72 - 73 was special.....mine is a early 70......hell, I don't know.

I am assuming neither of the links above are right, but I really don't know.

70 is all by it self, due to it getting a plug added to the end of the wires. 71 is all by it self, due to VW adding the copper strips for the horn circuit.

If you're not to interested in being 100% correct, then I'd use the 68-69 turn signal switch assembly, and splice the wiring together at the column head bottom. Or you could search the classifieds for a 70 unit from a bug, ghia, or type 3.
