Hello, do they reproduce the 59 ghia nose emblem. I looked at karmann ghia parts & restoration and house of ghia but could not find one. Is someone making them. |

I don't believe this one was ever reproduced and sold by KGPR or HOG. I have seen a crude copy of one, I think it was made out of pewter.
The ones that KGPR have are the two piece blue enamel style correct for 55-57 and the two piece emblem that was used for 1963-1974
The one you're looking for was used from 1958-1962 and it is a ONE piece nose emblem. An original one would have the a matte finished background...not all shiny chrome as the one in the ad.
Here's the correct one that's listed in the classifieds: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1593921 |

Thank you for the information. Reason I asked is This emblem came with the 56 ghia I am restoring. I know it is not correct for the car however I could not determine if it was orig. It has been rechromed but there is no stamping on the back to say if it is orig. I don't need it and will be selling it but wanted to make sure it was orig and not a repro. It looks exactly like the one my brother has for his 58 except for the stamp on the back mounting tab.
