|
|
Hi All,
I've never owned an IRS Type 1 car before, so this car is a bit of a new experience. We experienced some warmth in the cv joints and the rear hub carriers yesterday after flat towing. Not hot just good and warm.
Keep in mind I have rebuilt most of the chassis and all of the rolling areas. New disc brakes all the way around too.
There is no binding at all. The car was jacked up to make sure all would rotate well.
I just want to make sure its normal.
The bearings are all freshly packed and fine.
Regards,
Herk |

The result of friction = heat.
Warm is normal,
spit sizzling hot is not. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Your kids' bike bearings will get warm with use, as do VW bearings.
As VW-NUT said, warm is normal, spit-sizzling hot is not! |
