Hello folks.

I have owned many Blaupunkt radios over the years (over 1,000), but I have never personally installed an early Type 3 radio in a car. I recently sold a '64 model Blaupunkt Frankfurt FM unit to a friend with the external Powerpack at the rear, like this (but obviously supplied with a Type 3 faceplate, knobs etc)...

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

All Blaupunkt FM models upto 1965 had this external power pack attached to the radio. Does anybody have fitting instructions available for installing such a radio in a Type 3? Were there different types of under-dash mounting pods/brackets?

Many thanks,
Rich.

Like I said here:

Loosen the four 10mm bolts on the brackets and swing the powerpack under the radio- or even on top of the radio- so it will fit. It doesn't have to stick straight out behind like that.

side note, are knobs and such re-poped? I have the original for my '66, but no knobs, the black or the chrome pieces
