Since my wife can't go with me to Syncro Solstice, I thought I would take her to Southern Utah for a few days next week. I will allow me to do a shakedown for Syncro Solstice and give me a week to fix anything I need to before I leave for SS. We'll head down on Tuesday and be back in Salt Lake on Saturday.
We are hoping to find this spot:

One interesting thing to look for at Burr Point is the dirt airstrip down in the canyon almost directly below and just across the creek from the overlook. The strip does see occasional use so there is a slight chance you might even see a plane there. |

Well, next week has come and were all loaded and ready to roll tomorrow morning. The weather looks a little cool tomorrow (65 for a high), but warming through the week to a high of 89 on Sunday. I'll post some pics when I get back next Tuesday. |

We visited that area last year and it is spectacular. One warning though---every little town you drive through will probably have a speed trap. Usually on a downhill section or right after the speed limit changes. Be extra careful about your speed or you will be poorer for not being observant.
Thankfully, we were never stopped and it became a game of guessing where the constable was parked with their radar gun. _________________ 1991 Westy |
