We used to have a FLW near us in Banff, but it's long gone now.

Drove past a couple turkey vultures enjoying a roadkill deer yesterday morning.
Pulled over (I had to circle around to stop as close to next to it as I could) and got a pic from inside, which was good because they took off as I walked around to get a pic from the outside.
They are the two black dots roughly in the middle of the window, and I did get one in a pic as it was flying away.
Here's a challenge literally anyone can do, no matter where they live.
YVWNT: Whatever is exactly 26 miles from your starting point.
My suggestion would be to take an odometer shot where you can also see out the windshield, then drive exactly 26 miles and take another odometer shot. Then, if you want, get out and take one more where you can see whatever you're next to. Could be a building, a field, a tree, whatever. Just go drive at least 26 miles.
My suggestion would be to take backroads and such so that you aren't stopping on the side of the interstate. _________________ Dave Cook

The only Turkey's around here were in the grocery store freezers, there were some wild markdowns today, but I really didn't need a big frozen bird.

I would have given the vultures the green light. I think the majority of voting age favor vultures... ok, ok, no politics! Sorry!

Yes, I was at a small show and shine once were I suggested to the organizers that I would be happy to host one in our home town and would they be interested in attending? When they found out it was 4 hours away I nearly got hauled away in a straight jacket for suggesting such an outrageous thing! "I never drive my Bug out of town!" one of them said. "Well sir," I said to self, "if that were my Beetle I would not either... " and happily drove the 4 hours back home in our open top Manx copy.
We live 20 miles round trip from the nearest gas pump but if we need premium then it's a 55 mile round trip.
