That could be true, I think I've only been stuck and needed a tow or roadside fix less than a dozen times in 30 years...a lot of time I've limped home. But it's bound to happen soon...maybe we have to wait until the Old School Buggy Reunion at Pismo in August, but there is some shows coming up right? Some VW always has road trip blues...

This was a breakdown-lite, not dead but I didn't trust it to make it back.
Drove an hour out today and the bug's 'new' replacement craiglist mystery engine did well till the last 5 miles, where it started behaving poorly (leaning towards it's older electronic ignition module, oil temps were fine).
Trip was this engine's initial trial run, brought the towbar just in case.
Assuming accepted,
Next up: Your VW at the local animal shelter, bonus points for having your shelter rescue pet with you.
Minus points for dropping your pet off. |

Me broken down today...for the SECOND time. Dead in the water broke. 25 miles from home. Got a ride home with a VW buddy caravanning with us, brought my truck back with jack, tools, tow bar. Raised the adjustable beam front and pulled it home...in the pouring rain. Nothing like laying in water to hook up your tow bar.
Added just for sh!+s and giggles. Pushed it off the road into a police station. Not a bad place to break down and leave your car. |

Nailed it. Rockford beach access, part of Jefferson County Parks, Big River. Even got a pic in use. Give me a sec to go thru the gazillion challenges.
NYVWNT a four legged mammal, that is not a cat or dog. We just got a pic of some elk living it up in a small lake on another record high temp day. Was planning to submit that pic for a shelter animal, they are wards of St. Louis County Park system[Lone Elk Park].

I assumed the intent was the 4 legs still be attached...guess I don't think outside the box.  |
