|
|
Hi,
As my new engine is now working, I am looking into adding some gauges to monitor it.
I'd like to stick to a period correct type of gauges.
My bus is converted to 12v and I'm wondering if I could connect one of these VDO "STOP" warning light to a 12v VDO oil temp sender.
I don't know how these gauges are actually triggered. A friend of mine had it connected to a Gene Berg Dipstick and it worked. However his car was 6v.
Thanks
Phil

That thing is pretty sweet looking. Where ate they sold? To answer your question, if the sender is setup to run a warning light, then I think it would work fine. _________________ Kevin Albrecht

Well, I looked at the warning light and yes it is just a light. So it won't work on a vdo temp sender.
And actually it looks period correct but mine was manufactured in '83 .. Anyway.. they look nice. |

You could hook it up to one of those dipsticks that make the light flash. Instead of the oil light, hook it up to that light.
Just make sure the bulb in it is 6V or 12V to match your bus.
I like gauges, but I haven't got around to hooking any up in my kombi. |
