Any and all tips REALLY appreciated on how to remove my windshield washer bottle and also where to go to replace it?
A previous owner has attempted to repair a split in the bottle.. |

It should just snap into place. Grab it at the top & just kinda roll it out. There are just a couple "bumps" that snap into impressions in the body. Does this make sense? Try searching the classifieds for a replacement or put in a WTB add. Here's one & if you look close in the pics, you can see the little "bumps"

Excellent, thank you!
Has anyone changed the air valve in their bottle? Any tips how to remove the valve housing from the washer bottle and reinstalling a new one??
The valve mechanism was locked in the barrel, inner threads at the very top were scored and the valve mechanism broke when I tried to strong arm it out.... oops.

Looks like a standard schrader valve.
Just loosen the nut and fish it out.
A bicycle tubeless tire schrader valve should work.

Remove the nut on the valve and it will fall into the bottle. Use some type of grabber to fish the valve out of the bottle. Make a tool with a part that threads into the inner threads of the valve. Somehow connect this tool to a cable or string. This could be something as simple as a stud with correct thread and upper end ground to a flat fin to be drilled thru with a hole for the cable or string. Fish the tool thru the valve hole to the fill hole, use the grabber to pull it thru the fill hole. and connect the new valve to the tool. Then pull the new valve into thru the bottle, and up into the hole. Install the nut onto the valve and remove the tool. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
