Has anyone ever modified the fuel tank for more capacity? With that center section depression seems like you could raise that section and get a few more gallons in there. I believe it was designed that way for air cooled heating ducts to pass through to the front. Could it also be that way for baffling and preventing weight shift when cornering by baffling the sloshing fuel. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and if so how did it go? _________________ Stan L

go to "my middie" in this forum
I have done this to two tanks, one was a top half mod and the other was all new from scratch. I eliminated the vent tanks and grommets. the eastwood white quart of liquid tank sealer made it possible. I have no leaks and this Thursday I go for a California referee inspection on this very issue. he wants to see the bottom of a stock tank, which I have now. |
