Anybody seen one of these? I am working on a 3 owner unmolested 64 bug with this mirror on it. I posted a couple more shots in my gallery. First time I have seen one.

I don't think I have seen one in person. However this Accessory brochure from 1964 mentions some interesting options regarding the "A" variety mirrors available, which have that 101 style base shown:

You are right no pics as this was over 15 years ago. Both were on 60 euro bugs. One thing I do remember about both was the very dark tint on them which made it hard to use which is why they went into the $1 for Pomona.

Here is another from the 58-59 thread

IS there anyone that knows exactly what this mirror belongs too? is it correct for a 59 euro? in the owners manual there is one so im not really sure. was it for euro's only? any info would help.

What you have is an early 101 mirror with the cool pear shaped head. Usually the 101's have an oval shaped head on them.
It would be correct for any pre 61 car.

Ok that is what I believed and that is the reason that I put it on my car. I also thought that it was more proper for a euro car. Thanks for the information. And also does anyone know what would determine a car getting a pear shaped mirror and not a round one?

Ah, that accessory brochure mentions they were available in tinted. I've never seen that on an external mirror before.

I did a search of the site and could not find anything.
The 58-59 thread says it is "correct" for a pre 61 when Andy's post shows other wise Wink
I had a round tinted 101 on one of my bugs and it was useless at night.
