Today my buddy Donny had his new 55' Wolfsburg Samba delivered. THis bus was pulled out of a farm in Oklahoma that had been sitting for over 30+ years. Good luck on your new project!

This bus is way nicer than I expected. The seller sold it to someone in Kansas city and drove it 7 hours up to them and they back out because of the condition. So then they called me and said if I wire them money to WalMart right away theyll drop it off somewhere and sell it to me. We ended up making a deal with the original buyer to leave it with him for a couple days until it got picked up. I also had to buy there trailer to leave it there.
I plan on getting this on the road asap and driving as is with minor repairs.

that would have been the end of the Wolfsburg buses

I think it was more like the last few months of '55

Looks cool Donny, and glad to hear you are going to get it on the road soon rather then letting it sit & wait for a restoration. Looking forward to seeing it .......... or go on a camping trip with it?? Wink

Nice bus!! Looks alot dryer in the pics Daniel posted than the ones the seller posted last week. My only question is who(seller or shipper) decided to strap down the passenger door and rear hatch drip rails that tight Shocked

Last 300 buses (plus or minus) of February were post Barndoor. March was just the official date on paper.

Uh-oh, my POS Barndoor left on 2/28/55. Smile
I hope it didn't have to ride dirty with some non-Barndoors to the USA.
