Hi Ian, no theses pictures are great, thank you very much!

They confirm an idea I had last night:

I just hope this will clear any header I may buy or build.

I think keeping the 2 brackets in the same plane is a good idea.
Mine in that position easily cleared an A1 1 3/4 header.
Tucking the bars in and slightly forward helps a lot with clearance, with only a tiny reduction in rigidity.,

Ian, with how you attached the lower bracket, I do not see any loss in regidity. I'll do it the same way. And knowing that 1-3/4 headers clear is very good to know Cool

Cheers

Bars are shortened also, so Käfer cup bars are done. Finding space for all the transmission oiling and cooling will be the next challenge...

Ian, thank you! You are right, only thing left to do on the rear end is finding spaces for the electrical transmission oil pump and distribution block...

I found out yesterday, that it is possible to clock the pump housing by 180 degree, thus changing the direction of flow. This will help me big time for the packaging.

Next I will clean all the transmission oiling stuff, test assemble it and route the hoses. Unfortunately I am waiting for some fittings that I ordered directly at Holley.

Wheels are back from acid dipping and cathodic dip painting (KTL) Cool . Even thought this is only the base coat, I could not resist to check how the wheels would look like in black paint and chrome trim.

What do you think? Gloss Black the way to go?

How about a stock look from a '64 and '65, using slightly deeper/wider 16" trim rings than the original 15" Lemmerz ones so that they extend deeper down along the outer rim? You can find such rings that are either smooth along their depth, or have a rib for an additional visual break. Here's a shot of Sebastian Gaeta's Manila Yellow original '64 Ghia with the stock 4" black-painted 15" smoothies and the rings.

Rome, thank you for the inspiration again and Antoine for your opinion!
