Thank you InchPincher, to answer your question in short: To clean and cool the transmission oil and positively lubricate the fifth gear in its own housing...

All the details and the discussion on this modification can be found in an extra thread, linked below in my signature under My Berg5:

Of course! That's going to be sweet Cool

By the way: This one of the craziest Ghia builds here. I am really I'm really impressed and excited about the final result!

Can you explain why its necessary to have this oiling system? That would be very interesting to me.

Cheers

Thanks guys!

@Ian - pressure testing will happen on the go Wink BTW there will be below 1bar in the system. No tank, just filtering, cooling if needed and distribution to the gears.

That is great work there. A lot of hose connections Shocked . Do you have a pressure tester for hoses? Is there a little tank for the gearbox oiling system, or does it just recirculate?
As well as being functional it looks great! WELL DONE

More details on the transmission oiling in the below linked thread.

Now I can take the rear end appart again and concentrate on body fitment and the front.

Thanks for watching

How about a stock look from a '64 and '65, using slightly deeper/wider 16" trim rings than the original 15" Lemmerz ones so that they extend deeper down along the outer rim? You can find such rings that are either smooth along their depth, or have a rib for an additional visual break. Here's a shot of Sebastian Gaeta's Manila Yellow original '64 Ghia with the stock 4" black-painted 15" smoothies and the rings.

Next I will clean all the transmission oiling stuff, test assemble it and route the hoses. Unfortunately I am waiting for some fittings that I ordered directly at Holley.
