Thank you Everett, Thank you Patty!
At first the bus will have a partly restoration, so I can get a license plate and drive with it. I don't know how long it will take and I don't mind how long it will take
I LOVE the bus. I'm searching for as much as information, photo's, people who know more about this bus, people who drove it or whatever. Please help me with this!
Of course I will post as much as info and photo's on this forum! |

I rode to school daily from about 1958 to the mid-60's in a Kombi bus similar to this, from our farm to a small town in north west Saskatchewan, Canada. Of course they weren't coach-work built as buses: the local school division, or guy who had the busing contract would find the cheapest way to haul kids on a low volume route, and besides piling them in the back of an open pick-up truck, the VW bus was about the only option in those days. The one I rode in had thinly padded narrow bench seats along the sides and back, and with two in the front along with the driver, held about ten kids!! To this day, the smell of exhaust fumes and stale orange peels instantly reminds me of that old bus!! _________________ "If you can't fix it with pop rivets, crazy glue and duct tape, or hold it together with zip ties, velcro or magnets, it REALLY is broken." |

time for a short up-date...
the schoolbus changed hands a couple of times overhere (in Holland) without former owners doing any work on it.
Now she is in my hands and we started the restauration in 2016
the plan is to get her ready for next year Airmighty barndoor gathering...
think it should work out just fine.

Great to see someone is taking on the job!
And from what I can see you're very dedicated to keep the original paint _________________ My 1958 PGSG project topic |

the way she stands today, quite some funcky green was needed but we are almost there.
Welding is for 95% finished and the matching number engine is being rebuilt as we speak.
can't wait to drive her again..i think she was parked somewhere around 1969.
