Found this Beetle in Columbus, Ohio yesterday. Purchased originally at R.B. Kuhn Motors, Inc. in Springfield, Ohio by Mrs. Cleo Mosley. It was sold to it's second owner in 1981 with 9948 miles on the odometer. It was purchased by its third owner in November 2012 with 19049 on it. It currently has 19079 miles on the odometer. Its like sitting in a time capsule.

I think I did ok. I'm pretty happy with it. I'm going to get brakes working again, buff it, and enjoy it.

It's perfect. I can't wait to get it on the road. It won't take very much time and effort. I need to get all the brake components and replace what needs replaced, get a small situation with the title situated, and get the insurance on it. I hope to take it to Volksfest in August in Columbus, Ohio.

I saw it when you posted it on facebook, and was immediately jealous.
You scored your self an amazing car, a keeper for sure. I don't remember what you said your exact plans for the car were, but if it were me, other than a complete detailing, buff, polish, etc, I would leave it as is. That is a survivor, in the true sense of the word, and cars like that are getting harder and harder to find. Congrats. Cool

I want to get it road worthy, which won't take much effort at all. Then do exactly as you say, detail, buff, and polish it. I don't want to change anything. It's perfect.

This car is awesome...a true 19,000 original mile vehicle. I got the chance to go over it yesterday and its pretty mind blowing. Its great to see a untouched car with all the original little details in tact. Cant wait to put the narrowed beam in it and drop it some

Very Nice.

I would not drive on 50 year old tires though.

Wow.. Super jealous! That's simply beautiful. All VW guys/gals dreaming of finding such a low mileage, original VW!

Just a suggestion, buy the best brake parts you can get. Try and avoid anything that not German or European!

That is L380 Turkis REFERENCE material right there! Well Done!
If I had that car- I'd search no more for the next beetle.

What an excellent find! (Lucky You)
A fine template for those wanting to restore a car correctly, you have it.
That paint will polish up fine. I do like original unmolested cars.
Make it safe to drive and insure the heck out of it.

I don't plan on altering anything. I'm going to clean it a little more, vacuum the interior, and make it road worthy. I added it to my insurance policy today. They're supposed to let me know about getting an appraisal done, but it's State Farm, and they never call back. I'm hoping to have it at Volksfest in Columbus, August 9th.
