Yeah, Bugpack has a tool, 7011-10, that you install inplace of the rocker shafts. You can get a compression gauge test lead, or drill out a plug to put an air line fitting into, then fill the cylinder at tdc with air to help keep the valves closed. |

But that does not compress spring....
There used to be one that the end hooked under or locked to rocker arm shaft and with a little grunt you could compress spring...

I have 2 of those tools. mac tools also made a tool that you just wacked with a hammer and it took them out or put them back in. we have one like the one glen has pictured for our mopar stuff....it's 35+years old. it was a must with tripple springs&roller cams and built much stronger than the vw units like I&glen have. Hi grammer!!! miss ya!! |
