We have a customer who has a set of 40 Dell''s on his buggy. He's has problems with fuel slosh off road. Is there anything you can do to them to cure this problem?

Thanks Scott, I haven't looked at a Dell for YEARS. and it's not at the shop to look at.

BTW I ran the tranny through the gears with the car up on stands. Man does it shift nice. THANKS

Even in a street car, the floats will bounce and eventually bend up and out of tolerance.

You have to re-set the float height as a matter of maintenance every year or so.

I do a lot of jumping and severe sand railing, and never have an issue with the fuel sloshing. Is it loading up?

Many people pump the throttle through the whoop-tee-dos without noticing it.... It good to have a solid pedal, not a roller pedal.
Also set up a foot rest on the side with friction tape like from a skateboard deck. This way your foot doesn't goose the throttle every time you hit a bump.

They do have some tendency to get the float bouncing and end up with float bowl overfilled on very rough "tooth loosening" type surfaces. I don't think there is a easy solution to that, but it should only be causing trouble at low speeds. Maybe he should drive faster Wink

If it is slightly overcarbureted the symptoms will be worse. Set the floats at 7mm, stay on the conservative side as far as idle jet, acc pump, and venturi size, AND fuel pressure, and maybe try the extended vent if it is really sloshing out the top (which it may not be)

Thanks guys. I haven't seen the car yet, just doing some research. I'm expecting it maybe next week.

Cheers, brad
