I’d like to thank The Academy, My parents, my non-understanding dog and Mr Ferguson from down the street..
No seriously. Thank you to everyone who made the 11th annual Salt City VW show a huge success.
Sheila, Wayne and The Grill crew
Marty Santy (The Music Machine DJ service) http://www.cnydj.net/intro.html
Our VWCCNY Staff and volunteers (the gate, the parking, the registration, the grill and the judges to name a few)
The Oneida Shores county park and Staff for working to provide us with the expansive lawn and facilities.
Also a mention about Our Sponsors
Caps & Campers RVs in Cicero
Evans’ Crane service
VW of Rome (New VW specials)
Select Eurocars of Waterloo (off lease low mile VW specials)
VWCCNY Member class sponsors..
Carvel of Dewitt for bringing out cool ice cream and smoothies.
We’ve had another hugely successful year.
175cars on the VW Show field with a variety of non-VWs to keep it interesting. Hey we’re open minded here.
4 hard luck story winners submitted
About 25-30 VWs cruised at Moe’s And 19 VWs camping on the Preshow campout Saturday night
The weather cooperated fully and everyone appeared to be having a great time. There were many VW families, kids and pets on the field.
This to me is a great indicator of a good car show where people are eager to share and include the whole family.
Kids enjoying the sprinkler and sand pit activity center, and pets taking advantage of the block ice’d water dishes.
The expanded Grill menu was a nice hit and the ice block dog watering stations a great improvement.
We sold out of food towards 2 and commemorative shirts by the end of the day (just a few 3xls left in stock)
We’ve met our goal and donated profits from the food grill to Helping hounds of CNY to help the rescue efforts local to CNY.
This would not be possible without all of the Great VW hobbyists and participants bringing such a variety of VWs, both classic and new
I’ve had a few post up pics already, and if you have any great pics from the show please pass them along
What can I say – another great show!!

A Fuel pump change and alot of luck – 2 hours later we are thrilled to be here!
Our car doesn’t have a top anymore so any sunny day is a Ghia Day! |

--- Car all washed & ready to go for today (1993 VR6 Corrado)
pull out and going to meet with Grandpa to car pool with the Webster VW Club and no throttle over 2,ooo rpm.
I had to turn around and pull it into the shop and try and figure out what was wrong.
The battery had slid and was touching the fan and the fan wore a hole in the battery.
Acid spilled onto some of the wires and vacuum hoses.
This was the cause of the engine issues after over an hour and a half we gave up and surrendered the trip with the Corrado. 8-( |

--- A couple years ago my daughter said she wanted a motorcycle.
Having been in a couple motorcycle accidents. I thought that would be a bad idea.
I told her that she is clumsy, she would fall and get hurt. That she would probably have my granddaughter.
And that my Granddaughter would get hurt too. So I bought her a 1972 VW Bug.
She loves it BUT she caught VOLKSWAGEN FEVER. There is NO VACCINE. There is no CURE.
She is driving her husband, mother and all of us crazy. She is constantly searching the country for another VW.
We bought two in Buffalo, one in Rochester, one in Ohio, one in North Carolina, one in Lancaster.
She now has SIX VWs. If anyone knows of a cure for Volkswagen fever. Call Greg.
She Refuses to go for help. |
